Wine With Friends

On Saturday, I went to the Danville Wine Festival at the Danville Community Market with friends Bear, Sage, and Boots. There was a good turn out of people and the weather was oh-so cooperative. Bear picked me up at my house around 12:30 and we arrived around 1:00. There were several Virginia wineries represented as well as many vendors.
On arrival, we found an army of wine glasses patiently waiting to be escorted to each winery in the building.

Of course, we had to do our part to make sure that the wine glasses were put to good use :)
The vendors displayed their beautiful jewelry, crafts, and food
Delicious dips - Perfect to pair with a glass of wine
Handmade jewelry from Silver Enchantments in Danville, VA

Beautifully crafted lawn furniture

Oh, and then there's the wine :)

I had such a wonderful time at the Danville Wine Festival. I'm blessed to have the greatest friends in the world to share these good times with me.

  1. Hi! Just wanted to stop by and say thank you for dropping by my blog earlier. It was so nice to meet you!

WOW! This looked like fun! And only $5.00 a glass! I adore wine (reds), but had no idea Virginia had a winery. I need to look for some in my Wine and Spirits store, the next time I'm there. I drink mainly California and Australian wines. I've discovered some tasty and inexpensive brands.

  2. Ron, I've been reading your blog for a while now. I just finally decided to comment. It is nice to meet you too!

Actually, Virginia boasts over 100 wineries. Two Virginia wines (“Octagon” label and the white wine is a Viognier Reserve from the Barboursville Vineyard) were served at the British Embassy Wedding Reception in Washington, DC. We are, indeed, starting to show ourselves as serious wine makers (and drinkers).
